Learning and Development Programs

Hamilton James & Bruce leads the recruitment industry in the quality of our learning and development programs.  Our dedicated Senior Management team manages the learning and development programs that are tailored to the needs of different people.  An outline of Hamilton James & Bruce’s programs is as follows:

Orientation

Our orientation program introduces new starters to Hamilton James & Bruce.  The goals of the program are to:

  • Integrate all new employees into Hamilton James & Bruce’s environment in an effective manner.
  • Give employees the tools and support to function effectively from their first day.
  • Ensure employees are confident and comfortable in their new environment.

The program covers a range of topics including our vision, strategy and structure; an introduction to teams within Hamilton James & Bruce; and training in our recruitment process and providing high quality service to clients and candidates.

Sales Training

We train our consultants in consultative selling, using a leading methodology to help consultants become more influential communicators.  It focuses on developing a business development strategy and building the communication skills needed to achieve quality outcomes.

On the job training and development

Learning and development at Hamilton James & Bruce doesn’t cease with our formal programs.  We continue to provide on the job training and development through ongoing feedback and informal reviews based on individual’s goals, our reward and recognition program, promotion reviews and succession planning.

We also outline to employees the high performance attributes and related competencies that are expected of them, as well as the behaviours that contribute to success at each career stage within the company.

This helps everyone to understand what is required to progress their career at Hamilton James & Bruce and allows them to:

  • Set priorities and goals for their contributions to business performance and their own development;
  • Seek feedback about performance and behaviour, based on the ‘big picture’;
  • Assess and guide their own performance throughout the year, and have a context in which to understand overall reviews; and
  • Be confident of a consistent basis for fair and equitable recognition and remuneration decisions
